When Ben Turner and his father, Greg, opened their Signarama franchise in the heart of bustling Nashville, Tennessee, it came at the end of a long decision-making process where they decided the best solution for their careers was to own a business together.
Ben and Greg had recently worked together, purchasing some old gym equipment, cleaning it up, and reselling it. They had worked so well together, they researched various ventures and settled on buying a franchise business. The next step was to decide which franchise would be the best fit for the two entrepreneurs.
They attended a franchise fair in order to get a better sense of the different options available, coming across the Signarama franchise during their visit. Our business plan impressed them immediately, and they knew they had found their franchise. After a period of learning the ways of being a franchisee and running a business, including attending our two week school at Signarama headquarters, the two men opened their new store in 2010.
To be efficient, Ben and Greg divided up their duties. Greg handles the sales aspect of the business, and Ben takes care of the management and production side.
Overall, Signarama Nashville specializes in the printing aspect of the sign business, especially wide format printing. The shop houses both a roll-to-roll printer and a flatbed printer, which allows them to tackle a wide variety of projects. The flatbed printer was a recent addition; Ben and Greg purchased this piece of modern equipment about a year ago. Since the purchase, the business possibilities have blossomed. A recent major project was to print a reproduction map of Williamson County for the new children’s hospital of the Williamson County Medical Center.
