Signarama Covina Supporting Covina Rotary Club’s “Field of Valor” Event

by Ted DeWitt on August 7, 2012

The Covina Rotary Club, here in Covina, California, is sponsoring the Field of Valor event, and the Covina SIGNARMA is showing its support by donating all six banners; these banners will help raise awareness of the event as they will be hung around town.

The Field of Valor event is a new venture for the Covina Rotary Club designed to honor our veterans. People can purchase flags from the Covina Rotary Club to be placed in a veteran’s home. Those people who purchase or adopt a flag can also designate a veteran who they want to give the flag to. Those flags that are not adopted will be given to a soldier from a list of names generated by the Covina Rotary Club. And as Covina gets new sponsors, they can get involved as well. A Diamond Sponsor will have the ability to adopt 100 active duty soldiers; the Premium Sponsor will adopt 50 soldiers; the Gold Sponsor will adopt 20; the Silver Sponsor will be 10. Single contributions are also available.

We at SIGNARAMA Covina helped the Rotary Club and the new program out by getting them several Coroplast signs at a substantial discount. Coroplast is a type of yard sign made out of corrugated plastic. You may have seen Coraplast signs, as they are a favorite of Realtors who use them for temporary Open House signs.

The Covina Rotary Club is also selling sponsorship places in order to help raise money for the event. As sponsors are added, SIGNARAMA will be going around town and updating each banner with each new sponsor.

After the Covina Rotary Club receives a set number of sponsors, SIGNARAMA Covina will produce those banners to help promote their event. And as additional sponsors sign on, we’ll add them using cut vinyl. Of course, our hope is that the event and sponsorship efforts are so successful, we just need to print a brand new, bigger banner.

In addition to the banners, the Covina Rotary Club is producing brochures, advertising in other mediums, and other materials promoting the event as well — every good marketing program uses several different media, not just one. Thanks to the current advertising in place, the event is starting to gather steam in the Covina community, and promotion will continue until Veteran’s Day, November 11.

On November 12, the flags will be lowered. Those ribbons with soldiers’ names will be given to the soldiers at that time. Also, between now and Veteran’s Day, daily events will be planned, honoring our soldiers. Once the event is over, the Rotary Club hopes to take those flags and poles and re-use them for next year’s event.

100% of all proceeds received through this event will be donated to local active duty families, local veterans and their families, and our local USO.

We appreciate everything our soldiers have done for us, and SIGNARAMA Covina is proud to help the Field of Valor event in any way we can.
