Signarama Highlights New Tampa Franchisee during Women’s Small Business Month

Certified business woman Beatriz Cardona, owner of Signarama New Tampa, continually pursues her dreams to run a successful small business as she extends her list of accomplishments and awards.

The Venezuelan-born business executivecomes from a family of entrepreneurs and decided to embrace her desire to operate a small business by opening her Signarama franchise in 2010. Within five years, her franchise grew and exceeded over $1 million in sales.

“When we opened our doors in 2010 we didn’t have a single customer, it was kind of scary,” said Beatriz in an interview with the Florida Small Business Development Center. Beatriz was highlighted three times by the Florida SBDC as the Spotlight Success Business.

This is just one of her list of over 10 awards and nominations. Beatriz has been highlighted by Signarama several times, winning the Top Store Appearance Award, Gold Star Achievement award for outstanding sales volume, Overall Achievement Award in 2017 and first place winner in the category of Directional Wayfinding for 2017. In 2016, Beatriz was inducted in the Signarama Hall of Fame.

Pasco County has also recognized Beatriz’s hard work, nominating her for the Economic Development Council Industry of the year in 2012, and eventually awarded her the following year with the Economic Development Council Manufacturing Industry of the Year Award.

As an active successful business woman, Beatriz continues to look for opportunities to heighten her business and networking expertise. She has been involved in several community events throughout the years and was given the 2012 Small and Medium Business of the Year Awards by a couple of local Chamber of Commerce. Beatriz has always reached out to the community from the day she opened her business doors by joining several networking groups in the area.

Beatriz advices women in the growing manufacturing industry to not be afraid to ask questions and get guidance from others. Through the help of other small business owners, she continues to achieve her passion for growth, and advices others with the teaching them about the importance of networking.
