Decals (or as they’re sometimes called, stickers) are a great way to advertise your business. They can go anywhere, get stuck on anything, and get your message across to your customers in an effective manner, without a large expense.
Decals make a great impact in the mind of the consumer and attract attention. Decals are a smaller type of sticker than the larger vehicle wraps normally seen on a vehicle. They’re cut out in a certain shape (oval, square, etc. or a custom shape ordered by the customer), and we have done decals for vehicle windows, and product decals for packaging.
When thinking about buying decals, remember that there are several different types of decals.
Many of our different SIGNARAMA stores have done decals for sports teams – such as the decals on football helmets and batting helmets. Sports booster clubs often choose decals as a way to promote their teams of choice.
You may have seen decals of your local high school sports teams on car windows or in supporting business’ windows – these are typical uses of decals by the booster clubs. University sports, however, are a different matter – they own the copyright to their logos and have their own avenues for printing those decals, as a special license is needed to print copyrighted logos.
At our own SIGNARAMA Lexington store, we often make decals for businesses to place their logos and information on their equipment – construction equipment, for example. While the booster decals are seasonal, company decals are often done year round.
Another type of decal that we do is rolls of labels for marketing materials. These usually come in batches of 500 to 1,000 per roll, with a “peel off and stick” type of application. They often come in an embossed foil or a four-color design with different shapes.
Ultimately, while there is no average size for a label (we have done decals from as small as an inch all the way up to 48″ wide), we have a lot of resources at our disposal to design and print all different kinds of decals. We also have the print-cut feature — once we do the printing, we are able to die-cut the shape of the decal into whatever the client needs.
